You cheated on me? When I specifically asked you not to?

Sorry. Tim and I have been on a major "Office" kick ever since we got the Season 4 DVD set. We're gearing up for next week's season premiere like woah. Have you seen the previews? Oh my. If not, go to Office Tally, the one-stop place for all your "Office" needs. What's going to happen to Ryan? My guess is he'll end up back in Scranton sooner or later...they won't let him go...I'm thinking they'll just demote him back to sales. That would be punishment enough, right? haha And Dwight and Angela and Andy...hate to say it (well, not really) but Andy is really growing on me. I didn't really care for him at first, but I think I kinda like him now. Michael...oh my, Holly is PERFECT for him! I really love her character...I hope she sticks around. Although, I'll miss the Michael/Toby dynamic. And Jan...eek...how many of you think that that really is Michael's baby and she's just in denial?? That's my hunch. But most of all...Jim and Pam...I cannot tell you enough how much I love them and if they break them up or something stupid like that I will be livid. For real.

Anyways, the new Mojo challenge premiered today! Use Cirque du Soleil as your inspo and include sequins. The prize is a kit from the brand new kit club Crop Suey! How cool is that name? Makes me chuckle every time I read it, haha. Due the 30th of Sept. You can find all the details on the Mojo blog.

Here's my take...I wasn't really familiar with Cirque du Soleil...I mean, I had heard about it here and there, but that's it, so I was a little apprehensive at first. Then I went to the website. Total rich, dark, vibrant colors going on over there! Decided to go with that, which was a bit of a departure for me from usual style or whatever you want to call it. It was fun though...challenging, but still fun. I used lots of vintage and thrifted goodies...ribbon and floweres from Goodwill...small trinket charms from the flea market (notice the clown's face in the thingy in the middle of the buckle). So happy that I had this photo of me and Tim from our friends' wedding...the colors were perfect!

And because I've been promising it...some room pictures! Of course, things may change some more, but here it is!Pardon the not so perfect lighting...I know in some of the photos it looks a little greenish. Still trying to figure out the light in here...which has not been fun with my layouts and other crafty things...I've got to find the perfect place to photograph them and I don't want to start getting in the habit of going outside to do it. Won't work so well in the winter with all the snow and ice.

Oh, and yep...that's THE quilt! I had emailed Urban Outfitters to see if they knew if they were going to be restocking the quilt, to which they said, "No, sorry". Still, I saved the item link in my favorites and kept checking it every day just hoping that they were wrong. On the night before moving day, I checked again and the picture of the quilt was back up on the item page. It had disappeared when it was out of stock. So, I frantically hit the "Check Availability" button and lo and behold...IN STOCK! I had to transfer the money from savings, but I bought it right then and there. I wasn't chancing it again. It was out of stock by the next morning again. Popular item. It's so much more beautiful in person...it really is perfect...and it's sooo soft and warm. Of course, I don't dare use it for anything but to look pretty on the bed. Yep, every night I fold it up and place it safely in the corner, haha. So, that goes to show, if you find an item you love on UrbanOutfitters.com, keep checking it. It may pop up again one day. :)

That's all for now! Off to do some laundry...hope everyone is well!

Christmas Inspires Me 365 Days a Year!

For real. It does. I mean, can't you tell? haha...I don't care if it's the middle of May, if I see something that's cute and Christmas-y, I'll get it. There's something about it that's just so magical. I dig it.

And as further evidence (and since I'm holding my X-Mas Preview Weekend over at my Etsy shop), I'm going to share some little ornament things that I've made over the past month/month and a half. :)

First up...Vintage Slide Ornaments! You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!
I loved making this one! I had found the little plastic gun at the flea market, which got me thinking of the Red Ryder BB gun, and I knew right away I had to make something in relation to that so I could use the gun. Of course, what better something than an ornament for the tree? For the image, I went online and found a 1x1" icon that fit perfectly. The ornament came out much more simple than my original idea, but I can live with that.Every Time a Bell Rings...
After the "A Christmas Story" ornament, I knew I wanted to make more. My Mother loves "It's a Wonderful Life" and I had these super cute tiny bells that I had received in the major lot of crafty goodness from Goodwill a few months back, so I knew those would be perfect to use. I went with a more classic feel here. My Mom likes classic and pretty, not funky and bright. And, well, it fit better that way. I mean, "It's a Wonderful Life" is a classic afterall...Heath Ledger Memorial Trinket Ornament/Decoration
The passing of Heath Ledger still saddens me greatly. I know it always will. After making the other 2 vintage slide ornaments, I was trying to think of what over movies or shows I wanted to use and then it just popped into my head that I should make a Heath Ledger one. This is my personal favorite of the 3. And actually, I loved how it turned out so much that I now have it hanging on my wall above my desk where I can see it all the time. I guess I'll have to make another one for the tree, but I'm okay with that. :)

That's all I have for Vintage Slide ornaments for now...I definitely plan on making more, but that was all I was able to squeeze in before the move. I did make some more spool ornaments, like the one I had made last year with the teeny tiny Santa. I made 2 so far, but once again, plan on making more. These will be arriving in the Etsy shop at some point. Maybe this weekend. Maybe later on. Who knows...it will be a surprise! :)I also made this larger spool ornament...love the way this one turned out! I made it with the intention of putting it in the shop, but I think I'm keeping it because I don't have any more of those Christmas-y chorus people to make another. Speaking of things made for the shop, but never making it there...I've decided to list this Favorite Things trinket box that I had made a little while ago, but then liked it so much, I decided to keep it. While I still love it, I have found that I don't have a place for it in the new room, so instead of storing it till the cow jumps over the moon, I'm going to list it in the shop in the hopes that it will find a good home. :)I'll leave you with a few pics of some recent flea market/Goodwill finds...I totally have to thank the online crafting/artistic community for turning me on to thrifting. I love it!That's all for now...more shop stuff to take care of, plus some other little errands...and I still need to shower! Room pics VERY soon! :)

X-Mas Preview Weekend

Yep. It's X-Mas Preview Weekend at Dot. Dot. Dot., which is totally exciting! I've been busy making all sorts of Christmas goodies for awhile now and have been so anxious to share them! I'm still going to be hard at work making lots of other things for the holidays and I won't be listing Christmas items regularly for a little while longer, but I did want to share a few things to give you an idea as to what's in store.

Here's the first item I listed tonight, which I actually made today (the first thing I've made in the new house! Yay!)...Joy Large Snowflake Wall Decor

So, keep checking back at Dot. Dot. Dot. this weekend for more things! :)

ps., no, I don't think it's too early for Christmas. My "day job" is retail and we're actually setting up the Christmas shop on Sunday and Monday...yes, THIS Sunday and Monday...yikes! hehe

All moved in!

Yep, we're all moved in. Been in here a week today. Yippee yay yay! It's been great (although, I only wish I didn't have to work and could spend all day, everyday decorating and unpacking! hehe)...there's so much I want to share and show you all, but, I'm not prepared. I haven't taken any photos, things aren't finished...and I don't want to tell without visual aids, haha...so, alas, house-y stuff will have to wait for now, but it hopefully should be worth your wait!

And thanks to all who have wished me luck...it's so nice and peaceful here. I'm so exhausted though, from moving, from working while trying to move, from unpacking...it's just a different kind of tired. Before, I was exhausted and I think that was more from stress than anything (and mold...yes, we had mold, another really important reason to get out), but now, it's more just a "Whew!" tired, you know?

I do want to share my new Mojo and Dozens layouts with you though!

The new Mojo challenge went up today...yippee! Use a bumper sticker (or bumper sticker-inspired) saying and something with plastic...all plastic, partially plastic, made with plastic...you get my drift. Miss Heather (aka Metrochic on SIStv) is our lovely GDT and you're playing for some awesome tags from Shabby Chic Crafts! Here's my take...Yes. I scrapped my dirty laundry...quite literally. I don't know...something about it inspired my, haha. I'm weird, period, end of story. These are due on the 15th of Sept., so get started soon! :)

And the full Dozens gallery reveal was yesterday. This "Dress My Nest" kit was AMAZING! All the woodgrain, yellow, fabulous fabric...oh. my. God.! I fell in love instantly. And as I think I showed you before, I made a bunch of stuff and had a ton left! I think I'm going to use some of the leftover fabric on a room project soon. Now look, I'm getting ahead of myself...I need to show you what I already made before I start going on about future ideas...duh! haha...

Here's the first LO...My Mom came across this in one of the closets in our old house. Obviously, I was an artist back then...writing on the walls, haha. At least it was seriously IN the closet, where you couldn't see. We actually left it there too. Couldn't bear to get rid of it. Funny thing is, I've always been obsessed with signing my name. Seriously. When I covered my school books in paper bags, I would always, always by the end of the year have every inch of those bags covered in a signed "Lindsay". Even now, if you put a blank piece of paper in front of me with some sort of writing utensil...I'll just sign over and over again. My Mom calls me vain. I say I was born to sign autographs. hehe ;)

Here's the next...This is the carpet in the new house. Yep. Pink. Didn't I tell you? With the wallpaper border gone though and everything in here, I'm getting used to it. I guess it's not so bad, and it was perfect with Michelle's fabulous cut-out paper!

And another...What can I say? I really loved my barn sale loot and this kit was perfect to scrap it with! I used the chipboard negative of one of the little houses as a journaling block. And I have some of the barn sale stuff up in the new room...yay!

Check out these Little Love Nests I made with the chipboard houses...These were SO fun to make! I knew right away I had to use the houses as little ornaments or wall hangings...all I did was trace the back, cut out the paper (or fabric, as I used on one), Mod Podge it on, cut out the windows and doors with my X-Acto knife, lightly sand the edges and then add in some the woodgrain Dymo letters in the windows to spell some love-related words, attach some yarn and ribbon for hanging, embellish as desired and add a little index print photo of me and Tim in the door...voila! Easy and fun!

Anyways, as much as I'd love to share a bit more right now, I'm super tired...been up since 6am the past 3 mornings and have to be up again at the same time tomorrow for work. And it was super hot last night, so Tim tossed and turn all night long, therefore I didn't get any sleep, haha...oh well.

More soon, I promise. And please fill me in on what you all have been up to. I feel like I've been absent for weeks! Eee! :)
