A few new things...

Just wanted to quickly share a few new things with you all!

Friends of Tim and I had a most precious little baby girl named Lily Faith this past Sat. night and as a little congratulations present, I made this ornament for them to hang around and remember this special time. Here it is...
In case you were wondering, the fabric wrapped around the form is actually an Easter dinner napkin I cut up into strips. I thought the print and colors were so cute and the napkins were only like $1.00 @ Kohl's, so I figured I really couldn't buy fabric for a cheaper price, haha.

Also, because I loved making my larger bird's nest wreath, I made these miniature ornament versions. Put them both up for sale in my Etsy shop.
Okay, that's all for now...more soon! :)

New Mojo Challenge!

The new Mojo challenge is up! It's a continuation of Dr. Suess month and it was such a fun one for me! Check it out!
I was totally inspired by the whimsy and bright colors of the 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish book cover, so I went with that inspo for my layout.
The Duckie quote jumped out at me because I remembered this photo of me dressed as a duck one year for Halloween and figured I could make that fit very well with what I had in mind.

Can't wait to see everyone else's takes on this challenge! Good luck to all! :)

3/3

For the past 3 nights, I've managed to scrapbook every single night. I've been feeling inspired about scrapbooking, which hasn't really been the case since last summer. 3 pages out of 3 nights is pretty good, I think, especially since I'm pleased with all of them.

Along with the Chillaxing LO, I managed to bang out these 2 LOs as well...
Any one else out there go through phases like that?

The Catwalk!

I made the SIStv Catwalk again today! I think this is the 3rd time...it's so super exciting though!

Bernadette Henderson picked this brand spankin' new LO of mine as her pick this week...
As far as the LO goes, it's my most recent...made it last night. Last week I realized my scrappy area was starting to get out of control. I had no room to work and no place to put anything else and no idea where anything was. Forget about trying to find my favorite pair of scissors under that glorious creative mess! So, I started to re-organize. Still not entirely done. But I did get quite a bit accomplished and managed to find things I forgot I had, but then again, doesn't it always go that way with all scrappy people? haha
So, last night when I sat down to make a LO just because I wanted to make a LO, I had a couple things in mind that I wanted to do. 1) I want to continue trying to work on making my designs bolder and my pages pop more and by doing that, I've been trying to do less on my layouts. I always feel that enough is just never enough...if I see empty space, I feel compelled to fill it, but then I'm usually not entirely happy with the outcome. So, like I said, I've been trying to do less, leave more space, cluster things more. I'm going to keep trying to work on this, too. And 2) I wanted to try and use some things from my stash I haven't used in ages that I re-discovered while re-organizing. On this layout, I used some old Hambly rub-ons, BasicGrey paint rub-ons (that hadn't even been opened), some Heidi Swapp decorative numbers tape, and an old piece of cardstock. The funny thing is, before this layout, I hadn't used rub-ons in almost forever and I mean really used rub-ons. I'll be honest...sometimes they scare me. I'm not a very good rubber and I'm so afraid I'll mess up the rub-on and then it's too late. Anyone else like this?

I will say it felt totally good after the LO was finished. I really like it. It's masculine, and funky and cool and it has some Love, Elsie and vintage elements on it. Really want to scrap another page now!

Until next time...

On the tightrope, all is quite clear...

Hi, hi! How is everyone? It's rainy and slushy here today, so I thought, "Why not update my blog?" and thus, here I am.
Here's a few random things for today...

I went to my grandmother's the other day for lunch with Tim and came across this cute little mini Paris souvenier tray in one of my Great-grandmother's old trunks. My grandmother said I could keep it, as I love Paris (my room is Paris themed!)...although I've never been there, I hope to one day!
After lunch, Tim and I stopped into Goodwill again. It was less busy this time, but of course, there were still lines. I did find this mini Paris souvenier plate for $1.99 though! I hit the Paris jackpot this day! It has a tiny chip in the paint by the top of the Eiffel Tower, but you can't tell all that much, and I thought it was really cute. Now I need to get some mini plate holders, so I can display the plate and tray in my room!
I've been feeling really inspired by spring and birds and nests and nature lately, especially after I saw the work of Katie Runnels from the Constant Gatherer on ArtsyMama's blog. Especially this piece. I fell in love with it! So, when I made a trip to AC Moore the other day, I picked up some nest wreaths, reindeer moss, flowers, plus some more paper birds and other nature-y stuff, thinking I could make something similar of my own. I played a bit and came up with this bird nest wreath (although, it's totally not on the same level as Katie Runnels piece!)...
My crafty area today...
Does anyone else out there believe in the power of the Magic 8 Ball?
I totally want to believe and I do (well, when it gives me the answer I'm looking for, haha), and today, I had a question that's been on my mind for a while...a long while. Today it was brought to the forefront again and I felt compelled to go to the 8 Ball. I shook it and thought, "Just give a yes or no", plain and simple, no "ask again laters" or any other ambiguous answers. I wanted something concrete. When I flipped it over to look, it said this...
Yep. You can barely make it out in the photo, but it does say "YES"...just a simple "YES". And that was the answer I was hoping for and it kinda gave me chills. Of course, I know you can't really base anything off that, but it's comforting in an odd sort of way for the moment. And of course, makes me think even more about this "thing". I think I just need to have faith...in the 8 ball, this thing and in life. Does that make sense? haha

But okay, that's all for now...going to go try to straighten up my crafty area. Wish me luck...I'm gonna need it! :)
