Your face.

So, my friend, Alyssa, from work told me a few months back that the ultimate comeback insult is "your face!". Like, for example, if someone tells you you suck, you just turn around and say "Yeah, well your face sucks!" or if someone tells you to hurry up, you say, "Your face should hurry up!". I mean, you can go on and on with this. It's amazing. It will change your life. Like I said, it's a few months later and I'm still "your face"-ing everybody. Thank you, Alyssa.

In other news, it's getting emptier and emptier around these parts. Check out some pics of my room from the other day...And these were actually taken before I moved all my craft supplies over (which took a whole car load and a half). It's SUPER empty now. But that's good. 4 days left and I can't WAIT to be out of here. Did I mention that I've still been finding suspicious spots on my car? A couple weeks ago, I noticed someone scratched the heck out of my back driver's side hubcap (but only on certain spokes) and then I caught the kid upstairs trying to put something spikey under my tire, although he didn't think it was sharp enough to puncture (this is what I heard him say through my window) and then I found a little dent on the top of my roof and just yesterday, I noticed there was a big scrap on my driver's side mirror that wasn't there the night before. It just doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. I also found a cat sitting on my roof the other morning. Now, that probably was a coincidence.

So, I got my Dozens kit, Dress My Nest, the other day. LOVE IT! I had sooo much fun playing with it! So many cool things in there...especially the woodgrain Dymo tape. Like, oh my God, I'm in love! The unfortunate thing was I had a ton more ideas and could have done a bunch more with it, but my time was limited because of the moving and right after I was done, I had to pack up all my supplies. Hopefully, when we're settled a bit, I'll be able to play again. I mean, here's a pic of all I had left AFTER making 3 layouts, plus a project...Seriously. I keep saying it...sooo much stuff! Here's a little sneak of one of the LOs (hopefully Dana won't mind me showing you!)...And I signed up for Facebook. All the cool kids are doing it and I'll admit it, I felt a little left out. Did the same thing with MySpace when it became popular. Resisted and then finally caved. I do love the Pieces of Flair though...decorating my board is the tops! Especially since with everything all packed up, I've had nothing else to do late at night, haha...here's the current state of my Flair board...So, that's all for now. Hope everyone is well!

New Mojo.

The new Scrap Mojo challenge is up! This time around, you have to use a title from a "School House Rocks" episode (there's a list provided on the Mojo page) and glitter! I chose 'Ready or Not...Here I Come' because I found it fitting for where I'm at right now. And I used glitter AC Thickers...yay! The fabulous GDT is Cindy Ellen Russell and the prize is from Coordinates Collections. Go check it out now...it's due Aug. 30th! :)

Oh, and do you remember in a post or 2 ago I mentioned that I found a quilt I LOVED at Urban Outfitters.com? This is it...So, after I saw this quilt, I figured it would be PERFECT for the new room. My old comforter has had it (starting to rip at the seams) and I thought it might be nice to get a plain white comforter and then just throw the quilt over it when not sleeping. And, because the rug in the room is a pink/mauve-ish color, I figured the pinks in the quilt would go well with the rug and also, with the black in the quilt, it would go well with all of my existing black accents that I've picked up over the years. And I thought it would be feminine, but not TOO feminine, so it would be fitting with Tim moving in as well...PERFECT, I tell you....PERFECT!

That night, I checked the availability and they were in stock...YAY! But, they were also $140.00 and with the move so close, I didn't want to chance buying it now and then with the change of address, possibly disappearing. So, I figured I'd wait till we got in to the new house. Makes sense, right?

But then, glitch in my big plan. The very NEXT morning, I go back on to look at it and what's this...OUT OF STOCK! I panic...I was going to base everything off this...it was going to tie everything together! Then I think, maybe it's just out of stock and it will come back. I'll give it a few days. I've been checking every day since and no luck. This morning I decide to email them and just see if they know if they'll get any more in and if so, when...I really want this damn quilt. So, I get home from work and I have an email waiting that says, "We will not be restocking this quilt. Sorry for the disappointment." Say what?!? No, they HAVE to restock this quilt. I'm so upset. I mean, not like end of the world upset, but upset in the way that I had this amazing vision and now it's completely gone. Dude. For real. I should have bought it that night and taken my chances.

Anyways, in other news, I have been listening to the Backstreet Boys non-stop since the concert and I went back to work yesterday from vacation (blah!) and still packing and moving, packing and moving...the big move is the 29th, so I may be out of touch for a little while soon. And that's my update.

Anyone else think it's totally starting to feel like fall? The temperature has really cooled off here in the Northeast and the leaves are changing already! Crazy!!

I STILL keep the Backstreet pride alive.

Yes, I do. Since way back in '97 all the way to today. I love the Backstreet Boys, I always will and I don't care who knows it! Seriously, I was a total Backstreet girl through middle school AND high school. I had the posters, the wall plastered in Teen Beat pin-ups, the t-shirts, the cds (of course), the recorded VHS cassettes with EVERY appearance, the Burger Kings toys, all of it. I was hardcore. So, boo ya. I want it that way. I look back on it fondly.Needless to say, I went to the concert last night. Hello, loved it! Eighth freakin' row center! Oh my goodness, I could see everything...every grin, every eyebrow raise...it was glorious! This was the 6th time I have seen them in concert (I'm hoping the next time will be lucky #7 and I might actually meet them!) and I really think I enjoyed it the best. I mean, I don't know, I loved them all, but I was SO close this time, so that might have helped, hehe! I took a ton of photos (over 200, although a lot of those turned out to have, like, an arm in the way or something), but I'll share some of my MOST favorites. I added some more to my FlickR account too, if you'd like to check them out. Now, I know what it looks like...I have a billion of Nick Carter. And yes, Nick was and still is my favorite, but I have to let it be known that I did take photos of the other guys too, because I love them as well, but I swear they had a better spotlight on Nick because nearly every one of the photos of the other guys is dark. For real. So, it was just easier to get photos of Nick, haha. ;)

Speaking of Nick, he was AMAZING last night...he kept dancing all night (not just in the group numbers), and it was so hot. I loved it. Totally and completely. Here's a couple of the dancing...Oh, and check out this photo I got of Nick right as he sang "Am I sexual?" for the second time during "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)"...HOT!They all did a solo number too...totally LOVED AJ's. So fun and full of energy. Will definitely buy his solo album when it is released.

Before I completely overwhelm you with my 1999 self, I'll go. Just know that I really enjoyed last night. So good to be able to still enjoy the same things I did as a pre-teen/teen. Look for the new ScrapMojo challenge in a day or so and also, don't forget to get your layouts in for the latest Inspired By Amelie challenge, as well as your entries for the DT search over there! :)

Rock (or Pop) on,

Sneak Peeks!

Hello all!

Just wanted to share a quick peek of some Christmas things I've been working on for my Etsy shop this holiday season! :) There's many more button wreath ornaments too, but I can't show them all. Well, I could, but I'm in a teasing mood today...hehe! Hoping to work on some other things as well, maybe tags, cards, etc. It's all going to depend if I can tear myself away from decorating after the move...haha. I plan on adding things starting in September to get a jump on the Christmas season. We'll see how that works out.

Speaking of the move earlier, we've gotten a lot of stuff cleared out of here already...brought TONS of stuff to Goodwill. I told myself I can't shop there for a bit because I'm apt to see the stuff I sent there and I might be tempted to buy it back, lol. I've got all sorts of decor ideas in my head...of course, a lack of budget to support most. I do have my eye on a particular quilt from Urban Outfitters. Figured it would go well with the pink rug that's already in the room (yes, there's a PINK rug...but I can deal, for now, haha). We're going to repaint the bedrooms (there's also a hideous floral wallpaper border down the center of the room) and I've got 2 closets...one double I'll be sharing with Tim for clothes and whatnot and the other is going to be a craft closet, so I can keep all my extra stuff, paper organizer, etc. in there. There's not as much space in the room as I have right now, so I'm looking for a new desk that will accommodate my laptop and be a good place to get my craft on. Right now I've got a small desk and I work off of my Mom's old card table. I haven't taken many pictures lately...of anything! I need to though. Will keep you posted!

Hope you're all well!

ps. BACKSTREET BOYS tomorrow! Woo hoo! hehehe

We're Moving!

Yep. That's the "big" news I mentioned in my previous post. Official moving day is Aug. 29th. It's about time. It will be nice to be able to leave my car unattended outside and not constantly worry if something is happening to it. Right now, we're in the middle of packing. Of course, once I get a chance, I'll take a pic of the place and tell you all about it, but today, I want to share some of my recent thrifted finds. Yay for thrifting! :)

So, I went to Goodwill twice (okay, 3 times) in the past couple weeks. With moving, I've been looking for neat little things I might want to decorate with. Well, just neat things period. It's really becoming quite the addiction, I tell ya! So, the first time, I found this super retro West Bend canister tin...so cool. Can't you just see this being used to store supplies in?Then, I found these amazingly FABULOUS bird mugs...I scored these for 99 cents each!I found these few other pieces...
The silhouette picture is actually on linen and the other picture is all plastic...frame, picture and all.

A few days later, I went with my friend, Katie. She found a sweater and some bead necklaces. I found some old lace (not pictured) and these lovely little hummingbirds...I just love the pink and red with the greens!I also found this vintage Mikasa creamer and mug...love yellow SO much lately! But, my most favorite find of the trip was this huge glass owl jar!I saw this when I went the time before, but it was $24.99 and I wasn't really sure if I should buy it for that much. Then, after I came home, I was thinking how cool it was and that I could actually store lace or buttons or something in it, so I was tempted to go back the next day, but then I said, no, the next time I go, if it's still there, I'll pick it up.

When I went with Katie, guess what was still there...I picked it up immediately, but the best part, which I didn't realize till I got up to the checkout...it had a red ticket and everything with a red ticket on this particular day was 50% off! So, it cost me a total of $12.49 plus tax! And this thing is heavy too...probably close to like 10 lbs.! Gotta love Goodwill...

And...after yesterday, I completely ADORE barn sales! My Grandmother dragged me to this barn sale up in the country. I was hesitant because so far I haven't had much luck with yard sales or garage sales and sometimes feel as though I'm invading people's personal space. But, then she knew how to get me...she tells me the ad says "Vintage and antiques". Damn. I had to go then. So, we get there, we walk into this dirty, dusty, filthy old barn and it's FILLED with treasures! Everything was for sale and everything was everywhere! Unfortunately it was almost the end of it and they only had 2 bags left to hold stuff, so I couldn't really dig around too much (there were piles of books and boxes) without dropping my stuff and with all the other people, I didn't trust putting it down. I did find some cool gems in there though...everything was caked in dirt and like I said, everywhere (I think if I ever went to an estate sale, it might feel like this, just maybe less dirty) and nothing had prices, so I was kinda hesitant to pick up some stuff I was somewhat unsure of for fear that I was going to have a hundred dollars worth of stuff in my hand without enough cash to pay for it. So, my Grandmother and I have all this stuff and the lady says to us, "Ummm...for all of it...maybe $10 or is that too much?". Uh, hello, SOLD!

This is just about everything...Look at all the wonderfulness! There were old Christmas ornaments...Vintage Ohio Art Co. trays still in there original packaging and a turn-of-the-century Goodwin Pottery Co. vase...Vintage gift wrap...look at those prints!A 1958 Mrs. Leland's Butter Bits tin...I just love the colors and print!A Vintage Pyrex Snowflake dish and small casserole dish and much more!
I want to go back so badly. Now, I'm thinking of all these things I saw and should have picked up, darn it! Seriously, I just got the greatest thrill from digging through all that junk! Of course, then my boyfriend goes, "You're trying to pack and you keep bringing home more stuff!". He just doesn't get it, hehe!

Here's a couple cards I made...one is for my Mom's 50th birthday (which is today...happy birthday, Mom!) and one was for my boyfriend's sister-in-law's baby shower (which was also today)...Oh, and the new Inspired by Amelie challenge is up! Scrap your likes and dislikes...you can do so much with this challenge, so don't forget to check out the blog for more info. FYI, it's due Aug. 21st. Here was my take...And did you see the Dozens "Dress My Nest" sneak peek? Ooh, I can't wait to play with my kit! And Kerry Lynn Yeary is the guest DT. I know she'll create much loveliness with this! I only hope my kit arrives soon and not too close to moving day! I'm holding off packing my scrap supplies until the last possible minute, haha...

Anyways, that's all for now...it's probably enough, right? I haven't overloaded you, have I? haha :)

Hope you're all well!

Say Hello To My Little Post.

Actually, the quote is "Say hello to my little friend"...it's "The Godfather", right? I think, haha. Never saw it, but I know the quote, who doesn't? Although, I must admit, when I hear it, I think of Jessica Simpson on "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" trying to say it. Anyways...

ETA: Apple left a comment and informed me the quote is from "Scarface"...see? No idea. Not my type of movie. Either one of them. I do believe "The Godfather" was "Go to the mattresses" and I know that because of "You've Got Mail". "You've Got Mail"...now, that's my type of movie! Haha...thanks, Apple! :)

This is what the new challenge up at Scrap Mojo is based on. Use the quote, some way, somehow, on your page or project and also use a book page. You're playing for a super fabulous kit from Red Velvet Kit Club...oh yeah! Check out Mojo for more details.

Here's my take on the challenge...I just HAD to use my favorite little Mexican puppet man on this one...I name him Senior Jose L. Camino...partly because I love the way Brad Pitt said "El Caminooooo!" in the movie, "The Mexican". So, that's kinda how you have to say it. My Great-Grandmother gave him to me...she got him in Mexico in the '60s I believe. I cherish him and he watches over me while I sleep with his little gun in hand (see? how could I NOT use him for this page? hehe)... the little pin he's wearing is actually of a local band out of Boston called Stepanian. They're nifty.

That's all for now. More soon, I promise, including some super good personal news! Hoping to get time to share within the next day or two, so check back, yo! :)

Hope you're all well,
-Lindsay
