Inspired.

Do you ever have those moments where you're so overwhelmed? Overwhelmed by stuff, cute stuff, supplies, inspiration, ideas...I've been feeling that way the past few days. When this feeling strikes, I find that I can't create anything...I have to let the inspiration and ideas soak in, just take them in, process them, then after that passes, I can begin to create again. Sometimes it's just too much lovely for my little brain! :)

Anyways, I thought I'd share some of the lovely with you by posting a mosaic of my FlickR favorites. Hope you enjoy and find some wonderful inspiration from these, as I have! :)1. Tin Tea Cups, 2. It's late afternoon and I could take a nap.

But I won't. I never nap, unless I'm sick. I don't know, but I just can't bring myself to lay down in the middle of the day. It feels...strange. Is anyone else like that?

Did you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend? We did some grilling with our new grill...yay! I also happened to get a billion mosquito bites. That part was not cool. I'd love to hear what everyone else did, so share away in the comments section! :)I was also busy all weekend editing photos, taking photos and adding lots of new items to Other Such Nonsense. 40 items and counting, I'm proud of myself! haha So, be sure to heart the shop because more is coming! Here's a few things I've already added, in addition to what I showed in the previous post...And don't forget, I'm including a Little House magnet in every order for the first 10 customers! :)

Saturday morning, I went out thrifting with my Grandmother. We went to some yard sales and the local flea market. I didn't find too much, but I did find some things...Some fabric and quilt scraps, plastic gold mailbox letters, an old girl squeaker doll (the squeaker still works!), some vintage bling, a Casper the Friendly Ghost pop-out book (this was free!), and a pair of googly-eyed owl magnets. Definitely a decent start to the season.Aren't those fabric pieces so lovely??? Can't wait to use them!Oh, and this throw was thrifted from Goodwill a few weeks ago. I was waiting to photograph it after it went for a ride in the washing machine. Aren't the grey and shades of purple gorgeous? It's soooo soft too!

It's my friend, Erika's birthday tomorrow (happy birthday, Erika!) and in honor of that I made her a little piece of tiny wall art with a photo of us from almost 10 years ago now.I haven't seen her in a bit and I miss her sooo much (she lives all the way across the country)...so I thought it would be nice to send her a little something.

Anyways, I think that's all I have for now...off to edit more photos and hopefully add more items to the shop this evening. Back to work tomorrow, eek! :)

NEWS! :)

Hello, lovelies!

Over the past few weeks, I've been mentioning some big news and today is the day that I've decided to share!

As of today, Dot. Dot. Dot. is no longer. I know, sad right? Well, not really, because the shop is still there, it just underwent a slight name change. Dot. Dot. Dot. is now Other Such Nonsense 2 Vintage and Supply! Here, I will offer supplies (as I have been) and (coming soon!), the occasional vintage item as well!

You're probably wondering...where's the handmade in all of this and why is it called Other Such Nonsense 2? That's the REALLY exciting part for me!

See, I've been wanting to separate my supplies and handmade items in my shop for a while now and figured the only real way to do that was separate shops. So, from now on, all of my handmade items (including greeting cards, wall hangings, ornaments, etc.) will be listed in my new strictly handmade shop, Other Such Nonsense! Yay!I've been working super hard over the last few months to make new things for the Other Such Nonsense launch and now that I've spilled the good news, over the next few days, I'll be listing all sorts of new items. Here's a peek...And, as a lovely little bonus, the first 10 customers to make a purchase (of any amount) at Other Such Nonsense will be receiving one brand new Little House magnet! These have all been made using recycled cardboard and have an extra strong ceramic magnet attached to the back. Super cute for your fridge, filing cabinet or other metal surface! Additional details will be found in the shop.

Don't forget to go and heart Other Such Nonsense and keep checking back for new items!

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend! :)

YAY!

I'm so excited over Shawn and Mark winning season 8 of "Dancing with the Stars" tonight, that I just HAD to blog about it!

I adore Mark Ballas. I've been saying it all season. Okay, much longer than that! But really, I love his style, I love his fun socks, the way he sings along to all the songs and the way he makes funny faces during the dances.

I mean, hello! Look at this...(*Photo copyright of ABC)

So, a big congratulations to Shawn and Mark! YAY!!!! :)

Big announcement still coming soon!

Semi-Charmed Kind of Crafty Life

Hello! Figured I'd share a few things I've made recently with you all!

First up, it was both my boyfriend's parents' wedding anniversary and my boyfriend's father's birthday this past week, so I made a couple greeting cards in honor of the occasions.A little bit of vintage goodness on both cards, just the way I like it! The vintage Bandit playing card on the birthday greeting card was from One Ripe Peach.Speaking of One Ripe Peach, this lovely package filled with goodies arrived in my mailbox today...isn't it just lovely? Ellen is so awesome! Seriously, one of my favorite Etsy shops for vintage delights and pretty things! Be sure to check out her blog, as well, to see all of her lovely thrift store finds!

I forgot to share these Mother's Day cards last weekend...Here's an altered trinket box I made the other day...I plan on putting lots of little mementos from my relationship with the boyfriend thus far. The little vintage double frame on top was thrifted from Goodwill recently and worked just perfectly on top of the box! It's a little heavy with it on there, but I don't plan on moving it around too much. I used Aleene's Super Thick Tacky Glue on the back (after removing the easel stands) and I don't think that frame will be coming off unless I try to pull it.

Oh, here's a recent pic of the boyfriend. This is as close to laying on my prized Urban Outfitters quilt as I'll let him. It's removed every night before bed. But if you remember all I went through to get it, I'm sure you can understand, hehe. These vintage Christmas Ornaments were recently purchased off eBay for a really great deal! I couldn't resist!

Last night, we went to see Third Eye Blind (marked my 5th time) and they were awesome, as usual, even with Stephan Jenkins wearing some black spandex-y half-cape/body drapery thing for the first half of their set.Got to see them afterwards as well. Here I am with Brad Hargreaves (the drummer)...
And I am happy to report that I didn't get smacked in the face by Tony (the guitarist) this time around (see photo below from 2007, which I grabbed from the 3EB myspace page, front row with the hand in my face)...The big announcement is still coming soon. Working on getting all my metaphorical chickens together first. Stay tuned! :)

245 pictures.

I just uploaded 245 pictures from my digital camera. That's 245 pictures that need editing.
245 pictures on top of probably 500 I have sitting in my pictures folder already waiting to be edited. Yikes!

Here's a few already-edited photos of a recent altered Christmas house I made. The base was a plain ol' beat up little wooden house that I purchased on my very first trip to Goodwill (you can see the picture here). I've been meaning to do something with it ever since and I've been really inspired by Christmas lately. Not sure why that is, but I find I'm always most inspired to create Christmas lovelies in the spring. Is that strange? This is also very similar to the house I created for the Dozens this past Christmas. One may end up in the shop come this Christmas season, who knows.

In other news, yesterday morning, I was folding laundry and Tim was lying on the bed when all of a sudden he shouted, "Moose!". Wait. What!? I half-heartedly glanced out the window, thinking it was going to be one of those "made ya look" moments, but to my surprise, there were 2 huge, skinny horse-looking things strolling down the street. Yep, 2 baby moose. No antlers. Definitely babies. One jumped a fence in a neighbors yard and ran off while the other continued down the street and stopped in the middle of the road in front of our driveway. I rushed to get my camera, quickly snapped a super blurry photo from our bedroom window, when Tim then snatched the camera and ran out to the front door, to try to get a better one. Unfortunately, as soon as he opened the door (he wasn't very quiet about it), the moose looked over and ran off.All I have to show you is the super blurry photo. Sorry. It's still pretty cool though. And believe it or not, even though I've lived in Maine my entire life, these are the first moose I've ever seen in person, aside from the huge taxidermied stuffed moose at Cabella's (a hunting and fishing superstore), but that doesn't count.

Off to get some things done on the to do list. Stay tuned for a super exciting (at least I think so!) announcement coming soon! Sometime this week, perhaps? Just maybe.

100 posts and 5 layouts.

This marks my 100th post. Sorry, I have no fanfare, no confetti. To be truthful, I wasn't even planning on posting today, but then I realized this morning thanks to some scrappy Facebook friends and their status updates that today is National Scrapbooking Day. I haven't scrapbooked all day. I guess that's what happens when I've been more into other crafts and less scrapbooking lately. Ah well.

Anyways, in honor of today and 100 posts, I'm sharing some layouts that have been sitting in my Pictures folder for awhile now waiting for who knows what. For descriptions on the individual layouts (because as mentioned, I wasn't planning on posting and I'm keeping this short...must head to bed soon, for work shall call early in the AM), please see my FlickR feed or any of my galleries on the listed scrapbooking sites to your left. Drum roll please (or not), here they are...Happy National Scrapbooking Day to all you scrappy, happy people out there and happy weekend to the rest of you! :)
